Welcome to Ballat Smithy Cottage. This charming two bedroom self catering cottage
forms part of a lovely old house known as Ballat
Smithy, which we believe was built at the end of the 18th Century by the Duke of Montrose for his Buchanan
estates. Situated on the threshold of Scotland's
Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park with lovely views of the Campsie Fells and the surrounding fields and woods, the cottage offers a wonderful place from which to explore all that this beautiful
country has to offer.
The cottage
is the ideal base for a self catering
holiday in Scotland, located only a
short distance from the world famous 'Bonnie Banks' of Loch Lomond,
and equally close to Rob Roy Macgregor's Trossachs
homeland; Stirling
and Glasgow are a half hour drive away, Edinburgh
and Perth one hour, and much ofArgyll, Perthshire, Ayrshire and South East Scotland
is accessible in less than two hours. For those who do not wish to venture too far there are many wonderful scenic drives, walks and attractions close to the cottage.

to Do page for lots more information.

welcoming guests from all over the world, from all the countries of the UK to

' From Blair Castle to Inveraray, we've found everything to be within easy reach. The cottage and Mrs. Currie have anticipated all our needs! Everything is beautifully done inside and out! The area is gorgeous! Truly the perfect spot for any activity or just to rest too!'
