How to find Ballat Smithy Cottage.

We're under the pink spot.

From Glasgow, leave the M8 at Junction 16, and follow signs for the A81; after about 15 miles you will come to a large petrol station/restaurant complex on the left. Turn left here onto the A811, following signs for Drymen and Loch Lomond. The cottage is on the right, just after the 'Horses crossing' sign and the entrance to Loaninghead Farm.

From Edinburgh follow the M9 and exit at Junction 10 (signs for Loch Lomond & Trossachs, Callander and Crianlarich). Go right at the first roundabout and follow the Loch Lomond signs. These take you onto the A811; follow the road for about 19 miles to its junction with the A81. Cross the A81, following signs for Loch Lomond, Drymen and Erskine Bridge. The cottage is on the right, just after the 'Horses crossing' sign and the entrance to Loaninghead Farm.

Look for our yellow doors!
